You Suck at Living is made by Jef van de Graaf. This page explains what the game collects and why.

Playing as a guest

No account is needed to play. The poems you write are saved only in your own browser. Nothing is sent to us.

If you sign in

We collect your email address, the pen name you choose, and the poems you write in the game. We use your email only to send sign-in links and, if you win the poetry contest, to contact you about your prize. We never sell it or share it for marketing.

A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 90 days. It is needed for the account to work and is not used for tracking.

Public poems

Poems you make public are checked before they appear, then shown on the site with your pen name. Private poems are never shown to anyone.

Who handles the data

The site and database run on Cloudflare. Sign-in emails are sent by Postmark. Both process data only to provide those services.

Your choices

You can make any poem private again at any time. To delete your account and all your poems, email hello@yousuckatliving.com from the address you signed in with.

Age

The game is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, email us and we will delete the account.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
